Nurse. 21. Sometimes, I just feel so intellectual at few things. But most of the time, I feel plain clueless about stuff.
Photography. Pokemon. Relationships. Classics. Sci-fi. RPGs. Ze internet. :)
So yeah, expect posts about Nursing and health in general, with an equally healthy dose of Photography, reblogs, and anything deemed artsy.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
As longtime fans of both Macklemore and metabolism pathways (weird combo, we know, but whatever), we’re pretty damn excited about this “Thrift Shop” parody by Wilson Lam. You should be, too, especially if you’re studying bioenergetics.
“One of the awesome things about the [intermediary metabolism] course at [The University of Ottawa] is that a song contest is held where the students are challenged to write a song about the TCA (Kreb’s) Cycle,” writes Lam, a biochemistry undergrad at uOttawa. “I decided to also add a little glycolysis in here as well, just because I figured that it worked well.”
Anyone who’s grappled with memorizing the various enzymes, intermediates and transformations of the citric acid cycle will appreciate how useful songs like this can be, especially when they’re set to tunes as wickedly infectious as “Thrift Shop.” Bravo, Wilson — I wish I’d had this video at my disposal when I was an undergrad.
THIS is frigging awesomeeeeeee
DAMMIT THREE HOURS TOO LATE.
I feel like the exam went ok though, but this would have made it so much better!
Where has this been all my life.
I could have probably used this when I was taking physiology and pathophysiology…
Initial and final interviews successful! Job training in a few days.
Time to refresh my nursing knowledge… and perhaps learn new things about my practice.
I’ve been looking recently for possible job opportunities I may find in other countries after I get enough experience in the Philippines. So far I’ve seen the UK, New Zealand, and Canada as likely places to start with.
I’ll be staying at Nottingham for the next four months to visit my sister and my adorable niece.
I initially planned to stay there until February, but when I found out that our group’s undergrad research got in at EvidenceLive 2013 (which will be held at Oxford University), I decided to stay and just wait for my groupmates to arrive.
Here’s to hoping that 2013 will be filled with great things for me.
I miss those post-duty afternoon strolls.
Finally done with our research poster to be submitted to EvidenceLive 2013.
If this gets approved, we’ll be invited to present our group’s undergrad paper at the University of Oxford next March. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for this.
Best friends and I topped the boards. In retrospect, we had a really healthy dose studying AND playing (Rock Band, arcades, etc.) Just can’t believe it.

Along with my 49 other batchmates in UP College of Nursing. Congratulations to all, especially my friends who got in the top 10, my high school friends who also took nursing, and to the proud parents of these passers. :)
Board exams tomorrow! Mom sharpened these pencils for me. Makes me remember those days in kindergarten. :))

One of my plans is to become a nurse anesthetist. It still looks a long, long way from where I am right now, but I’ll do what I can to be one. Will read this photocopied book after the boards. To help me keep track of what I want to do in the future.

Had fun at Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. Our batch stayed at Kabayan Resort. The accommodation was really nice, in my opinion, despite having a small beachfront.
Also, as our N121.2 duty finally came to a feel-good summer conclusion, I can finally say that I’m DUTY-FREE. Yeah! :D
