One... Year
February 24th 2010:
Hello Tumblr. I hope you won’t be boring as time passes by.
It’s been a year and three days since I joined Tumblr.
Thank you to all who have been following me, especially those few who I have made friends with. Though a lot of you I haven’t met yet in person, I do hope we’ll find some time to see each other.
I can safely say that Tumblr didn’t...

Lucky
A friend told me that some people are lucky to have me as their friend.
I beg to differ. I actually feel that I’m the one lucky to have friends like them.

Friday
Our group spent last Friday morning in a foodtrip ward class at the Ph.D room. We, including our professor, brought food for everyone. Macaroons, brownies, biscuits, chips, and, other finger foods filled the table. It was a very lively morning, discussing our journals which I haven’t been too attentive with.
Weng, Jam, Toni, and I goofed off - a sign of hunger - after fetching the Yosi...

Medical Ward
He called me a demon and even shouted curse words at me on the first day. And yet in the end, I’m surprised at how my client and I had good rapport, despite calling me Doc Peter instead of Nurse Stephen (due to poor hearing). He was also less irritable and a lot quieter compared to his noisy state last Tuesday.
I have to admit that my client this week was probably one of the most difficult...

Oh. It’s Valentine’s Day.
Woke up at 9am with a clogged nose.
Spent the morning arranging the mountain of papers and books on my desk. Apparently, I have around a thousand pages of photochopied and printed texts.
Had a short brunch with mom. “Sino ka-date mo ngayon anak? Boyf- Girlfriend mo?” She makes this mistake all the time that I think she’s doing it on...

Foreigners in Familiar Territory Part 2
Shopping Center. We were like foreigners, wearing our nursing community uniforms, yet walking in familiar territory as UP students.
Our first choice was to eat at Rodic’s and have some of their irresistible tapsilog. However, the place was filled with people that Weng and I got scrunched up at the stairs.
So we then resorted to the nearest food store - just across the hall. I...

Foreigners in Familiar Territory Part 1
For our Community Mental Health Nursing schoolwork, our group interviewed the target population we chose. We found ourselves gathered at Ministop Pedro Gil at 7:30 in the morning.
It would be an hour-long trip before we reach our destination - Brgy. UP Campus in Diliman. While the LRT2 trains are a lot more comfortable in terms of space, the travel somewhat slowly. Since we don’t have much...

Off to Glorietta and Landmark today.
Find a free wifi hotspot to download Raikou to my HeartGold game.
Buy cake at Red Ribbon to celebrate my sister’s wedding.
Also, buy some chips and salsa dip at the grocery.
Attempt to take pictures of my short (perhaps around 2 hours) visit to urban Makati.
Friends
I do appreciate it when my friends and I have mutual feelings of exhaustion, frustration, and irritability at what school has been demanding from us.
Sure, they’re making us strive for excellence… But this is not the right way to do it.

Farewell Pateros... not.
Yesterday morning was our “last” day of duty at Pateros. Since we were only having home visits (our prof will visit our client families) we collaborated with our partner group, Gee, in their implementation of their Nutrition and Exercise program.
Our group’s focus was on the senior citizens of Pateros, so we introduced this exercise called Sitting Qi Gong.
The exercise...
